Twenty five exotic birds including parrots, toucan, quetzal, parakeets, cockatoo, and anhinga sitting in a tree with branches you can arrange. The largest bird is 15" long and the smallest is 2.5" long.

The quilt top shown at left is made up mainly of batiks. I think it is more contemporary than the birds in a tree at below left which was made ten years ago. Both machine appliqué and raw edge appliqué techniques are explained in the revised pattern instructions.

I used 23 of the 25 birds in the pattern to make up this top. I also inserted different fabrics in the centers borders for variety.

The Exotic Birds fabric kit has a combination of 37 different cotton prints and batiks for the quilt top, including the border and the binding to make a quilt similar in size to the one pictured above which measures 38" x 56".

Note: The pattern is not included with the fabric, because some of our customers may have previously bought the pattern at a show.

When you buy a Critters created fabric kit, you get an assortment of colors and textures as similar to the original fabrics as we can find. We give you a list of what is in the kit. You will separate the fabrics for the borders and binding from the group. You decide how to combine the critters and the backgrounds they go on. That way everybody's quilts comes out differently. We use only 100% cotton fabric for quilters for our kits.
